Unfortunately we all know someone, likely too many, who have been diagnosed with cancer. It’s challenging, uncertain and heart-wrenching. I remember the day Jim was diagnosed with stage IV pancreatic cancer. 

While he showed no angst, the statistics were not in our favor.
There is still no cure for the type of pancreatic cancer Jim battled, but he was determined to fight in hopes that research would catch up, and he’d one day be able to hear the words “you’re cured.”

Here in Madison, we’re fortunate to have one of the best cancer centers in our backyard. 
The UW Carbone Cancer Center was where Jim received his treatments, and while we were both infinitely grateful for the 21 months of family time and memories we shared post-diagnosis, I still wish we had more.
So now, I’m cheering for the next family to have more. More treatment options, more clinical trials, more cures, and more time.

Please join us for the second annual Jim Lemon Memorial Golf Outing on Friday September 15th at Nakoma Golf Club in Madison. Your participation and generous contributions to the Jim B. Lemon Foundation will go to the University of Wisconsin Carbone Innovation Fund, where the best and brightest are working day in and day out on all types of cancers, so that one day soon, the next family can hear the words, “you’re cured.”
